Bob's Rifles, or Sporterizing some Turks - 10

That about completes the sporterizing of Bob's rifles. I found out he will make his Daughter re-do the original military stocks. When she has finished, I will bed the actions and show the final product.

I didn't cover the bending of the bolt handles. These were bent or forged as shown here, go to the "Forging" process mid-way down the page - Bolt Handles.

Also not shown was the bolt jeweling. This was done on the wooden jig (by my wife J ) as shown here - Jeweling

As a decorative touch the spring in the bolt release was jeweled, and the box was blasted and painted.

In real life it as nice as the bolt - the picture doesn't do it justice.

In the cases where the barrels were pitted, or in the case of rear sight alignment holes or stray serial numbers would have been visible, these defects brush blasted and were filled;

then the excess epoxy was removed with a file and a strip of sandpaper. These "repairs" were not visible after painting.
