Fixing an I.H. LA/LB Fuel Tank - Page 3

Here is the fuel line assembled and fitted to the engine for a test run. The end of the check valve has been covered with a piece of nylon panty-hose in order to keep stray dirt from entering the carb.

 

Well, the IH engineers have struck again. Seems like they put a steel "frost plug" at the very bottom of the block, where it cannot be drained of water. This plug is 2 3/4-inchs in diameter and is of the "disk" style.

The plug I found was marked "P62", but I don't know the manufacturer. A Dorman "550-033" is also a correct part number.

This is the underside of the block. The plug has been removed.
