The electronic ignition system was made up using the idea outlined in an article I found on the web. I used a large PNP transistor I found in my junk box and old automotive coil. The "points" are a roller cam "microswitch".
Above can be seen the switch mounted on a plate. The plate is mounted using the magneto bracket mounting holes.
I didn't want to make any permanent mods to the original metal, so I fabricated a piece with a hole through it and slid it over the push rod. The three ALLEN head set-screws fix this piece in place. The red metal is a cam, with the switch roller follower riding on it, the three SLOTTED head screws allow the cam to be slid to-and-fro, this allows the ignition timing to be set.
