3 - The Rear - Second Attempt
Well, the claw mount looked good, and seemed very strong, but while working on that mount, I noticed thar the receiver was drill & tapped for a conventional scope base.
I got to thinking that I could use these holes for a more conventional style base. I made a piece 7/16 wide, 1/2 high and about 6 inches long. I again cut a dovetail to match the Anschutz 11mm specification, and then drilled to match the two rear and one front holes.
I countersunk the three drilled holes with a cap screw countersink, and determined that the receiver required 6x48 screws.
I relieved a little above the bolt and used some Brownells cold blue. Looks pretty good!
This fellows father makes violins in his spare time, so I figure he (the father) can sculpt the front base a little.
