2 - The Rear
The Tikka has a dovetail (unique to Tikka and maybe SAKO) on the receiver, as well as four tapped holes. The Anschutz rear sight attaches to an 11mm dovetail, this dovetail is also unique, this time to Anschutz.
I made a dovetailed (Anschutz dovetail) rail and fastened it to the receiver grooves using the "claws" from some Tikka rings.
The dovetail was cut on the mill. Ý Ý Ý
The Tikka sight slides onto the dovetailed rail. Ý Ý Ý
This is the rail mounted to the receiver with the salvaged "claws". The dimensions of all the pieces place the rear sight at the same height as the (former) scope.
But I didn't really like this claw mount, so see page 3. J
