All of the parts were grit (sand) blasted. The photo above shows some of the blasted parts.
The muzzle and chamber were plugged to prevent grit from damaging the rifling or chamber. The muzzle plug has a hook as well, to assist in hanging the barreled action in the oven.
The blasted parts were hung in the oven and coated and baked per Brownells instructions. The coating used was Brownells baking Lacquer, Flat Black.
